Description SCHOOL HEALTH, SANITATION AND WATER PROJECT BUGIRI DISTRICT: This one was funded by was funded by the District Health Support Project by the Ministry Of Health supported by The World Bank. It started by carrying out a baseline Survey on the situation in 10 Primary Schools in Bugiri District and the surrounding communities. It was found out that most schools by then were faced with lack of Pit-latrines; water was being shared with animals. UMURDA developed a proposal that Objectives of the Project
Importance Of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Importance Increase knowledge to local communities on health problems related to hygiene and sanitation. Increase knowledge amongst teachers and school children about School Sanitation and Hygiene Education (SSHE). Construct 20 VIP-latrines in the selected schools, Mosques, Churches and rural growth Centres. Protect 10 existing water sources.
