Uganda Muslim Rural Development Association (UMURDA) is a local NGO that was founded in 1992 in Namakoko village, Nankoma Sub-county, Bugiri District in Eastern Uganda. UMURDA is a Faith Based Organization (FBO) carrying out development activities impacting on all irrespective of age, sex, religion or political affiliations. UMURDA is registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs- NGO- Board, Registration No. INDR2217102NB mandated to operate in the whole country but currently operating in the districts of Bugiri, Namayingo, Iganga, Kamuli, Busia, Tororo, Bududa, Mbale, Namisindwa, Palisa, Butaleja, Manafwa, Kibuku, Mayuge, Mpigi, Namutumba, Kaliro, Kayunga, Buikwe and Jinja
To; “Build Capacities of Rural Communities”, to influence change for sustainable development through training, information sharing, provision of credit and support. GOAL To“Mobilise and Organise the Target Groups,” to enable them identify their needs and then assist them to organise programmes to address the identified problems of Poverty, Ignorance and Disease (PID).
To have; “A healthy, skilled and informed self-reliant rural community”.
